Note your calendar and get packing. It’s time to plan for the international student festivals. While each festival is independent and requires its own registration, the goals are similar. They bring students together from around the globe and discuss common issues and exchange opinions. There are four international festivals during the summer of 2018:
GrlStuF (Greifswald International Students Festival) June 16 – June 23, 2018
This biannual event hosts students from around the globe. More than 150 participants come together to exchange ideas and examine everyday issues from a multicultural aspect.
SCiM (Student Conference in Maribor) June 26 – July 5, 2018
The goal of this annual conference is to unite students from many cultures and backgrounds. Attendees participate in workshops and lectures where opinions can be voiced, and multicultural understanding can be achieved.
ISWiB (International Student Week in Belgrade) July 15 – July 23, 2018
This festival is a platform bringing together more than 250 young people from different cultures and backgrounds. Its goal is to establish friendships and discuss contemporary issues, explored from many perspectives.
ISWinT (International Student Week in Timisoara) July 23-August 2, 2018
Based on the daring ideas put forth by enthusiastic students who believe in friendship, unity and multiculturality. Now in its 25th year, the spirit of the original event is retained, while new ideas, teams and participants ensure its relevance in today’s world.
Student festivals are a wonderful way for those from different backgrounds and perspectives to meet and learn from each other. Bringing people together, fostering lifelong friendships and understanding across diversity is are the most powerful goals of the events.
